Kumusta ang heart mo? Nand’yan ba yung dapat nand’yan, o iba na ang laman n’yan? Let’s read this passage about the centurion and have a heart check.
1. Is your heart humble? (verse 8)
Sabi ng James 4:10, “Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].” It is your job to humble down and it is God’s job to promote you. If you do God’s job (promote yourself), He will do yours (He will humble you down). Sorry na lang kapag di mo magustuhan ang paghumble down sayo ng Lord
Ask this: Am I humble enough to:
- make Jesus my Lord?
- submit to His ways?
- ask for provisions?
- ask for repentance and forgiveness?
- be under His protcetion?
We have to understand that without the Lord, we are nothing. Without God’s love, we are pointless. Kung di natin nakilala ang Lord, san na lang kaya tayo pupulutin? Humble down every morning (regular basis). Remember: pride may enter your heart but it should never stay there.
2. Is your heart compassionate? (verse 9)
Pwede namang hayaan na lang nung centurion na mamatay yung servant. Marami naman syang servants pa eh. he has compassion. Sabi sa Matthew 9:36, “ When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion and pity for them, because they were dispirited and distressed, like sheep without a shepherd.” Compassion is the yearning of God’s heart. Do you still have the heart for the lost?
Don’t mix up compassion with church goals. We are to help, bless and serve people, find and meet the needs of the people not just accomplishing church goals. The purpose is to love not to accomplish church goals. Substance over form- substance ang compassion, form ang church goals. May goals ka kasi you have the compassion in the first place. Last thing, sa goals pwede kang mapagod, pero sa compassion, hindi.
3. Is your heart faithful? (verse 10)
Sabi sa 1 Corinthians 4:2, “In this case, moreover, it is required [as essential and demanded] of stewards that one be found faithful and trustworthy.” As a steward, we must be faithful. The product of faith is faithfulness.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of things we do not see and faith comes from hearing the Word. From the Word, you’ll see how great God is and that will build your faith in Him. Let’s be faithful because God is faithful.
